Bluegrass Pre-Qualifier - Louisville, KY - March 12-14

Coaches and Parents,

We have 9 teams, or about 100 athletes and coaches that we need to get to and from this event. A few days ago we sent out a “feeler” to gauge the level of interest in taking a bus to avoid the driving. The response was overwhelming in support of the idea. With that in mind we have booked 4 busses to get us all there.

GETTING THERE

We will have 4 separate busses leaving the Edge on Friday 3/12. One at 11:00 am. To get the 15,16,17, and 18 year old kids to the college showcase in time. If you need more info on this please let me know. We have several kids participating in this to get exposure to collegiate coaches. It is optional and certainly not mandatory. The next bus will leave at 2:00pm to accommodate those that want to work a half a day and take their kids out just a little early. The next bus will leave at 3:00pm and then the last bus will leave at 4:00pm. This staggered schedule also allows us to check in at the hotels a little more efficiently. You can leave your cars in designated spaces at the Edge for the weekend, and we will notify Twinsburg Police to be a little more aware of the situation.

WHILE THERE

The group staying at the Convention center will have little need for busses until it is time to go home . The group staying 5 miles away will have busses at their disposal to get them to and from the convention center. These coaches/parents will need to be vigilant about getting the teams together going to and from.

GETTING HOME

Load up the busses in the morning with gear to store it upon checkout. Since teams will get done at different times there may be some inconvenience as you will need to get your luggage from one bus and put it on the bus that you will be taking home. As busses fill, they can leave, please recognize that this may mean waiting for a while for the bus to fill. All busses will return to the Edge.

THE COST

$60 per person

HOW DO I SIGN UP

There will be a sign up sheet for each bus. Starting tonight (2/1/10) these will be at the Edge and you must see Sheree, Paul, or Brian Highfield to sign up. Once you pay you can sign up for a seat on the bus of your choice. No seats will be reserved. This is first come , first serve…so once a bus is filled there will no longer be the availability to sign up for that bus Payment is by check (payable to AVC)or cash only….if you send it in with your child please put it in an envelope and clearly mark the names that are going on the bus and the preferred time. They must give the envelope to Paul, Sheree, or Brian Highfield, and NOT their coach. The club is not making a profit here, in fact we are taking on a considerable risk. If we don’t fill a bus we may have to back out, but I do not see that happening.

Please pay and sign up early if you are interested!

There will be no refund if you miss your scheduled departure time at the Edge. The buses will leave promptly.

This is a great , safe , and economical way to get there, so please help us through the process. We are “ building the plane as we are flying it” so please bear with us to make this a reality.

These are motor coaches with reclining seats and a central DVD player so that a movie or 2 can be watched. While it would be great to travel down with your teams that is probably not realistic as not all will be able to get out of school/work at the same time.

Also……If you have not made your hotel reservation please let this serve as a reminder.
